It is a little known fact that I wrote the last post on a laptop. It caused me much strife.
It was so because, at the time, Asgaard was already out of order. Normally, it would boot up properly if I turned it on, paused the POST for fifteen minutes for it to warm up and reset a few times. One day, however, POST did not start at all - instead I got a warning, "Processor has been replaced or is malfunctioning, please run Setup". I was very sure it had not been replaced.
Cashing in a few favors and now owing others, Asgaard was at last replaced with Valhalla. I originally came up with the setup years ago, and updated it many times as new hardware was released. It made little sense for the grand Valhalla to be a AthlonXP, as originally intended, for example.
Unfortunately, "the" Valhalla would cost far more than I could or am willing to spend on a computer, so what was put together falls short of the ultimate. I need no ultimacy, but my concern now is what to call my next computer in a few years. I am currently leaning towards "Seraphic Gate" or some variation; in Valkyrie Profile, that is the name of the hidden dungeon, available after going through the entire game. So, after Asgaard and Valhalla, Seraphic Gate. I am not too fond of it, however.
This is an actual, true, veritable and trustworthy ICQ log from a few days after I had Valhalla up and running:

[12:10:26] Justin: You got an Athlon64? How dare you!
[12:10:58] Etienne: Heh? How dare I what?
[12:11:00] Justin: How dare you have a computer better than my Dream Machines!

This was followed by a long period of absence, which ended suddenly a few days ago.

[20:47:27] Justin: Everything's okay now, I bought a laptop that pwnz your machine.
[20:48:07] Etienne: Ah, I see. So we can be friends again, now?
[20:48:07] Justin: Yup.
[20:49:40] Etienne: Running Ubuntu?
[20:49:44] Justin: Of course. I almost have the top row of keys on the keyboard working already. But I had to do some hacking to get the left Shift going.
[20:50:31] Etienne: Ah, great. And what name did you give it?
[20:50:32] Justin: theramore.
[20:50:59] Etienne: There are more? There, amore? The Ram Ore?
[20:51:01] Justin: No, theramore, just that.
[20:52:06] Etienne: Hm. Alright.
I admit, part of this is false.
But I really just wanted to have at least one post in March and to let the world know Valhalla lives. No will and little point to talk about much else right now.
