A few days ago, Ruby was telling me about e-mails she gets from two coworkers. “Sent from my iPhone.” or “Sent from my BlackBerry.”.

(Today I saw “Sent from my iPad.”)

So I suggested she added to her own e-mail signature something like “Sent from my ivory tower”. If you are going to show off or use your phone as a symbol of status or “lifestyle”, might as well cut the technological middleman. “I need no gadget to show how much better than you I am.” This last line I probably kept to myself, but I am sure she could sense it just the same.

She agreed it was an interesting idea, and suggested “Sent from the highest throne of Mordor”, to which I added “‘and relayed by The Mouth of Sauron’, just to confuse people who never read the book or watched the Extended Version”.

It sounded fun, so lately I have been thinking of other such “Sent from” lines with which to end e-mails. Here are some I can remember:

Sent from my Summer retreat in the Mediterranean.
Sent from my secret space station.
Sent from my PSP.
Sent from my common desktop computer.
Sent from a potato running Linux.
Sent from my local post office.
Sent from the future to warn you.
Sent from my Altair 8800.
Sent from a parallel universe where everyone wears goatees.
Sent from the quarantine zone.
Sent from my secret-agent wristwatch.
Sent from my hacked NES.
Sent from Area 51.
Sent from my fully armed and operational battle station.
Sent from my Casio Electronic Organizer.
Sent from my Wii.
Sent from the last refuge of mankind in this continent. Please send help.
Sent telepathically.
I never sent this e-mail. This is all happening inside your head.
Sent from my Apple Newton.
SENT! FROM! SPARTAAA!
Sent from my Windows ME computer.
Sent from Hogwarts Castle’s owlery.
Sent from my office, three meters away from yours.
Sent from my Sega Mega Drive.
Sent from my Enigma machine.
Sent from your iPhone when you forgot it on your desk.
Sent from right behind you.
Sent from my DeLorean.
Sent from my ColecoVision.
Sent from the Umbrella Corporation Headquarters.
Sent from a galaxy far, far away, a long time ago.
Sent from my Nokia N-Gage.

Got any ideas you would like to share?

    Sent from the intertubes!
